Inductive Proximity Signal Output

My application is to sense a metal body and start the test system.

We have an external triggering test system. I want to activate this system an inductive proximity switch out put signal.

which type of sensor I can take whether a PNP or NPN type ?

The deciding factor will be the equipment that this signal will go into.
Look at the data sheets and appliction notes for that instrument.
