Notification Email feature defect

09/07/2009 1:30 PM

The Got a Question...Post Question dialog box in CR4 Digest/Do not reply emails has a serious flaw.

If one elects to post a question within that box as requested—and during the course of composing the question—one strikes certain keys (such as arrow keys, etc) then the question will be immediatedly discarded/lost, having never been posted (one scrolls back to the box only to find it empty and pristine...as if one had never entered text...).

Apart from eliciting frustration, and even fury, this flaw insures the most likely many if not most questions attempted to be posted there never get posted. I for one will not keep typing the same message only to have it discarded by the web site/web site software. Recommended solution until this can be fixed...if it can be fixed:

Remove the Ask-a-Question dialog box and replace it with a link to a site (edit) page where the question can be posted. There, at least, if the page responds oddly, one still has recourse to the right-click > undo command. One's effort submitting a question isn't repeatedly squandered.

Sorry, the informative question needing a answer will have to wait...

I had the same problem. It seems to be the auto save function expected by windows which is not present in IEn. I downloaded IE8 without installing and the problem is fixed. (I am using FireFox)

What browser (and version) are you using?

Thanks
