PLC Problem

09/08/2009 1:16 AM

Hi

I am having problem with s7 400 PLC. During the running condition it went to stop mode. Now when we try to communicate, it is not communicating. it seems the problem is with MPI port. kindly suggest if any other ways to communicate with the CPU.

Also want to know, is Memory card will affect the PLC when it was removed or inserted during running consition?

Looking forward for valuable suggestions

Every time I've had a PLC problem, the MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO SOLVE IT has been to call the manufacturer. (even if was a mistake in my own programming)

Did you make restart by power? Did you make clean the memory?

Hi there,

If you removed the memory card while the PLC was in operation or just powered - you have frozen it up. Common problem with the Siemens S7400. Put the memory card back in and do full memory reset (cold restart), then you will be able to download your hardware configuration and program back to the PLC via MPI.

Be carefull - as you might have damaged the memory card.

Kind regards,

Craig
