CR4 Page Display Problem

09/12/2009 3:20 PM

The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred. Problem! Required parameter is missing. This is what I sometimes get when trying to submit a comment. I was wondering if there was any way to stop it happening, apart from changing browsers. I am using chrome, and have tried emptying cache and cookies. Any Ideas? Cheers.

It's been a while since I looked at Chrome- really nice, quick, without all the extraneous eye candy- but it also has its limits- I abandoned it, returning to Firefox, because I could not reply to CR4 threads from Chrome. I suspect it has been upgraded since I last looked at it, but I suspect CR4 is generally a lower priority for Google than it is for us...

I too find Firefox essential for CR4, but this is on a Mac...

I think the answer is still the same as the previous glitch, Bondy. Use IE7 or Firefox, CR4 doesn't like playing with some other browsers. mgaulin (ie the Oracle on how CR4 works) has posted on this topic several times - browse his posts and you may find a better answer, but I think it will be "ditch Chrome".

Regards.

I had been having this probem & reporting but never been informed why.

It occurs in only with some of the discussion questions / topics.. which have frequent posts in rply by other subscribers, while at the sametime other discussion topics open without any problem.

These are not due to bad server conditions but due to large number of replies /posts simultaeously in the problem discussion topic.

I experienced quite a number of times when my server conditions were ideal for me & opening other websites or discussion topics were working satisfactorily.

This problem is not Browser based you are using but CR4 server I think

I tried on IE, Maxthon [my favourite ], & some other other but problem remained un-resolved.

I found that if you open a new window and copy everything across - the address and everything you have written, it works. Could that be on a different server?

There's a thread somewhere in which (I think) Chris L mentions that CR4 have changed their mail server. Perhaps some similar migration in CR4's setup is causing the problem you describe. Haven't noticed it myself, though.

I use Chrome as my first choice, and have not had this problem.
