Hi EnB,

Why would you want to embed an Excel file into an Excel spreadsheet?

You cannot embed a whole Word or any other FILE into an Excel spreadsheet. You can, however, copy and paste text, tables, spreadsheet blocks, images, etc. from one application into another.

What, specifically, are you trying to do?

Mike

Do you mean embed a link that opens an excel or word document when the link is clicked on?

Excatly. I saw it done on a particular excel worksheet. The particular cell where the excel/word file was embeded displayed the excel/word file icon with the link c:\Document\..., clicking on it opens the paricular file. Also, the particular cell displays this formula;

=EMBED(''worksheet'','''')

Very easy

Right-click the cell you want to use, and select "hyperlink". In the popup, fill in the "Text to Display" and the "Address" fields. The address can be a file on a hard drive or a URL to some website.
