10/02/2009 3:36 PM

I just bought a microwave oven which is 230V 50 hz here in dubai but I need to send this to philippines which should be @220v 60 hz. Is there available converter I can buy, and the approximate prize?

Check the microwave manual first as the microwave may possibly be able to operate on either supply voltages and frequencies.

If not you will need an ac converter suitably rated to the current rating of the microwave (check that manual again). As for price, if you can find such a converter (which are not that common) it will likely be expensive (perhaps more than half or more of the cost of the microwave).

Bare in mind that it is not common to do this (especially with appliances like microwaves), you are better off selling the microwave and buying a new one in the Philippines.

50 to 60Hz converter is not common call the manufacture and ask them about the freq. difference.
