what is swage nipple and barrel nipple? how they are different? what are special cases or services where they r used?

A swagged nipple is threaded on one side and prepared for insertion into a hose on the other side. To make a screw in fitting for a hose.

A barrel nipple is a short piece of pipe to fit between 2 sockets for example.

A running nipple is threaded longer on on side.

A nipple is - forget about it.
