Hi all,
All the vertical axis wind turbines that have been developed in the modern world owe it to SJ Savonius, who invented the wheel for the modern version of the Egyptian idea. But with Savonius's original idea losing out to the horizontal machines, much could not be developed on lines of his master's voice. Moreover, Savonius's methods were never documneted as he expired before making the VAWT famous.
I am a fan of Savonius and am searching for the original version of:
The S-Rotor and Its Applications, written by him way back in 1931. The article finds mention in the Mechanical Engineering volume released in May 1931, vol. 53, No. 5.
If anyone can oblige, I shall owe it to him/her.
Regards,
VAWTFAN
