Have you checked the websites of the major switchgear manufacturers such as ABB, S&C, Schneider, etc for company office locations (and in some cases job listings)?

How about other sources such as Globalspec or state company listings?

You may need to look further a field at near by states as switchgear design is a rather specialised field.

If you limit your career choice so drastically, you may have to move to find the work you want. However, a quick Google search yielded many companies; I'm personally familiar with these 3:

  • Emergency Transfer Controls, Inc. - Three Bridges, NJ
  • First Solar Electric - Bridgewater, NJ
  • ASCO Power Technologies, LP Florham Park, NJ

Don't limit your search to switchgear manufacturers. A little "outside the box" thinking will lead to many more options. ASCO and ETC design and build custom switchgear, but the call it transfer equipment. Companies like First Solar primarily build solar panels, but provide complete solutions including switchgear designed specifically for their equipment.
