Valve Testing with Steam

10/08/2009 6:42 AM

Hi,

Can anyone help please? I need to find a test house in the UK which can flow test a small Excess Flow Valve using steam, saturated water and sub-cooled water. I am currently trawling through many Google answers without much success, so if anyone has any experience they would be prepared to share I would be most grateful.

The operating conditions are: 260°C and 45 bar

Thanks,

Drew

Contact the valve manufacturers for advice.

Good advice, and I would normally do that. Unfortunately in this instance we are the valve manufacturers! The situation we find ourselves in is unusual: we don't normally make valves for use with steam or use steam for testing. We have had this requirement imposed on us (long story) and I need to find someone who has steam generating plant with flow testing facilities.

Thanks,

Drew

Did you try searching for safety/relief valve repair or recertification companies ? Good Luck!

Cheers,

Mark
