What are the factors to be considered in selecting Instrument cable, and what are the factors to be verified to confirm the quality of the instrument cable.

Hi ,

Mainly You have to consider the following

Insulation Voltage =300---/600 V

Type of Insulation PVC Polyethylene

Requirement of Armour

Above Ground /Below Ground===Lead Sheath For Corrosive +h2S presence

Type of Requirement =Instrument/Control Cable/IS Cable/ FO/ Cat 5-6 Cable

Electrical Parameters =DC resistance etc

Consideration ofNominal OD of Cable for Condiut Installation

Outer Jacket Color As per project specs

Colour code of individual cores as per project specs

You may ref BS 5308 Part 01/2 For further info
