Above is a model manufacured by GE. What does 2.5*l stand for?

off-shore turbine? pls anyone can provide the definition?

I just phoned someone in that division of GE and he said the x is not a multiplication, it stands for "extreme" for the higher wind rating and higher output, but different and not to be confused with their cold weather extreme model. So, it's like extra large (just joking) but the xl is just part of the model name.
