A construction engineer is on the jobsite. A fabrication engineer is in a factory.

The construction is over-all. The fabrication is much more limited.

Think from the angle say a factory construction - the construction for us is the mnager- has to have the holistic viewpoint of all activities- where as a small portion the fabrication part is looked after by the fabrication engineer.

And just a bit correction -to the guest #1- fabrication is done on site too.
