Define the engineering process required to modify designs of existing and new products and schedule accordingly.
· Consult with Sales and Marketing, customers, and customer representatives to discuss product requirements, applications, and specifications when design or manufacturing problems are involved.
· Provide Engineering support to Manufacturing and Development Engineering on new and existing products and processes.
· Establish product specifications and standards
· Estimate engineering time required to modify designs of existing and new products and projects.
· Develop schedules, coordinate and manage projects of all sizes with little to no supervision.
· Select materials and provide analysis for the improvement or application of existing products. Interface with purchasing and vendors in the modification and approval of component parts and assemblies.
· Define processes, select materials and provide analysis in the improvement of new products and processes. Interface with purchasing and vendors in the selection and approval of component parts and assemblies. Construct and test prototype components or assemblies as required in the development and approval process.
· Prepare written documentation of processes, material requirements, test results and project activity as required.
· Lead the review of Engineering designs prior to the release to manufacture.
· Simplify product designs for improved manufacturability and reduce cost without compromising product quality and function.
· Provide direction to technical personnel such as CAD Designers, CAD Operators, and Draftsmen.
Experience Required:
· 7-10 years of progressive experience in Engineering design and/or development
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate the activities within a department comprised of diverse tasks and demanding schedules.
· Knowledge of and experience with power engineering systems fundamentals.
· raining and/or experience in basic mechanical or electrical troubleshooting. Experience creating drawings, models and assemblies on CAD software is necessary, RS Designer preferred.
Education Required:
· Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering required.
