Equipment for Tap Measurements

I'm looking for a equipment to measure the pitch diameter of taps.

May be here, get it.

It is thread-cutting taps.

What size are these taps:

  • Micrometer?
  • Callipers?
  • Tape measure?

Is this what you are after?

Irwin Thread Pitch Gauge is shown, but many tool mfgrs have the same sort ot thing. Hit the Google button after typing "thread pitch gauge", and you will have many to select from.

The pitch diameter is high accurate ,the tolerance is +/-0.008mm.

So i think,the equipment should high accuracy.

That thing could be huge or it could be tiny.

The forum still needs to know an approximate diameter....

Looks like an application for an Optical Comparator. That particular machine was, in fact, invented and manufactured for the inspection of screw threads.

Nikon, Browne & Sharpe, Starrett are among companies today making comparators. Certainly one must offer a model suitable for your use.

There are thread pitch gauges as well as thread pitch micrometers.

The second (micrometer) we use for measuring the pitch diameter of the cut threads (male) on shafts - so I feel you can use it for taps too.
