I have not had the time to really search this, but this is a chrome-moly material. Without specific chemistry at hand, I'll guess 9018 stick would be a viable choice, but preheat and post heat would be critical. I'll look into this further and get back to you unless the correct information is posted before I can return.

I would suggest a 350-400 degree F. preheat and after welding do a post weld heat treat according to ASME code requirements. The correct GTAW filler wire is ER-90B2 and for SMAW it would be 9018 B3 however several years back they changed the spec. to E-8018 B3 because of under certain conditions the metal did not quite meet the 80 k psi tensile requirements. I still have boxes of the old 8018 b2 designation electrodes as well as the new designation in my rod storage.

The welding wire should be E8018-B3, E9018-B3 for SMAW, ER80S-B3 or ER90S-B3 for GMAW. For FCAW E80T1-B3 or E90T1-B3. The FCAW wire is often referred to as "ACID Slag" wire. The recommended shielding gas is 100% CO 2 but many fabricators use an Argon CO 2 Mixture. If pulsing the 90% Ar and 10% CO 2 works well.

This material is Cr Mo (Chromium/Molybdenum) and must be treated very carefully. The amount of preheat is very important and is based on the material thickness. Preheat is recommended in all cases and required in nearly all cases, even prior to tack welding. PWHT should be as specified according to ASME Section VIII, Division 1, UCS-56.
