CTs and VTs for ARC signal capturing.

10/30/2009 11:42 AM

Dear All,

I am looking for sensitive CTs and VTs that can be used to detect electric arcs in 11kV distribution systems.

Your response will be appreciated.

Regards,

A.M. Gaouda

Yes! Nowadays you have what is called Current Sensors and Voltage Sensors which are more sensitive and accurate than conventional CTs & VTs. Try contacting SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER, AREVA T & D, ABB, etc.

Also, I remember I have read in a VAMP website regarding arc detection & protection. Try "googling" VAMP.
