LSF cable

11/04/2009 2:43 AM

does LSF cable is flame proof? then up to what temperature it can withstand?

does Cu/XLPE/SWA/LSF cables can withstand up to -10 degc to +50 deg cent ambient and upto 90 deg cent operating temperature.

and temp during fault condition is 250 deg cent

so can we select Cu/XLPE/SWA/LSF cable for 380v,50hz and 3ph

pls reply

How is this relevant, pray tell? I see no connection between the OP's question and Islam. No wonder such a slur would come from a nobody = anonymous guest.

LSF - Low smoke fume type cables are Flame proof. LSZH or LS0H i.e. Low smoke zero halogen as per BS6724 is used by some of the manufacturers.

When exposed to fire the LSZH or LSF sheath emits very low levels of smoke and non. toxic levels of halogen gas ( typically under 0.5 % HC1 emission)

The Temperature withstand capability can be checked with the manufacturer (The ranges varies from -20 deg & so) but sure the operating temperature is 90 deg.

The temp sestainability during fault consition is 250 degree.

You can surely select this cable for 380v, 50Hz .

Generally the manufacturer have the type test certificates (Report) for those test and If you asked then vendor should submit those test report along with the GTP(general technical particulars for cable) and routine test certificates.

IF the type test report is too old ( for eg more than 5 years old or so) and if you have bulk quantity of cables of the same type , you can force him to do the type test.
