Data Acquisition Systems

Does anyone have experience with the two popular data acquisition systems "Labview" and "Dewesoft". Any user feedback is highly appreciated since I have to make a choice soon. Thanks

Yes for LabView but I have never used Dewesoft.

What is the application(s) you want to use it in as both have their advantages and disadvantages which may make one more suitable than the other?

I need to measure a combination of inputs (strain gage, temperature) and need a system which includes signal conditioning and is simple to use. I have looked at Labview but I don't have the time to learn the programming. Meanwhile I have seen a demo from Dewesoft, and I am very happy with this out of the box tool, which can be used straight away. Thanks for your comment.

I have never used dewesoft, but labview is a wonderful tool. Its a pity you don't have the time to use it... perhaps grab a work labtop and fool around with it over a weekend or 2? Thats about all it takes to do something basic.

National Instrument's LabView is very flexible, but does require training to customize for any application. However, their Signal Express software is very good for observing/measuring multiple channels from sensors. It is easy to use:

Depending on your acquisition rate (and temperature and strain are probably not high speed) also check out Weeder Technologies: http://www.weedtech.com
