Futher Electrical Power

11/05/2009 4:25 AM

A 3- phase transmission line operating at 33 KV and having a resistance of 5 ohm adn reactance of 20 ohm is connnected to the generating station through 15,000 KVA 5% stepup transformer .Connect to the bus-bars are two alternators one of 10,000 KVA with 10% reactance and another of 5000 KVA 7.5% reactance . Calculate the short-circuit KVA fed to the symmetrical fault betwen phases if it occurs.

(1) at the load end of transmission line

(2) at the high voltage terminals of the transformers.

pls, who can answer for me this question. Bcoz i have problem to calculate above these question for correct answer . especially i dont understand on 2 alternators are pallel with conect to bus-bar . so this is problem for me . i can calculate alredy but dont kow how to use formular for these alternators pallelling . so who can halp me ?

pls,

reagards

Go for ideal generator with series equivalent reactance. That is enough of hint for homework.
