I have not heard of that kind of software but would also be interested in it to. If I find something I will post.

If you are designing the transformers, learn the current methods and make yourself a spreadsheet to calculate all the necessary parameters. Cheap, easy, and effective if you KNOW what you are doing.

If you are designing software for sale, something in the C/C++ family should work. Your choice since once compiled the end used doesn't really know or care.

Thanks.

I am design engineer and know how to design a transformer. I developed software in GWBASIC before but that is almost obsoleted because not supported by Windows.

I also used the GWBASIC interpreter for MANY design and simulation tasks. About 15 years ago, I started creating spreadsheets to perform all those functions. Initially in Excel, then in the free Open Office spreadsheet program.

Some of my simulation and matrix solvers were a little more difficult to create in a spreadsheet, but the powerful graphing capabilities are MUCH easier to use.

My spreadsheet utilities are generally NOT other-user friendly. I use them only for my work and do not need to spend extra time polishing them for other users.

Best wishes

I have been used working with GW basic for a long time (approx 6years) in the area of generator sets designation.

However later when started using windows platorm , GW Basic was valueless. GW Basic only works under the DOS umbrella.

But this is not the point to stop.

Microsoft Excel and the embedded software of Visual Basic is very useful and very close to GWbasic terminology. Try to create Macros in the Microsoft Excel. You can use most of your GW Basic knowledge. Even it is much easier.

At the first step Pls. obtain a book to explain Visual Basic. And you will see how close to GW Basic.

Regards.

Good. But why to worry about windows. We can still use GWBASIC in DOS mode!

Or simply convert same logic in C or VB etc.
