solvent for phtalocyanines and epoxy resins

11/08/2009 8:10 AM

After a discussion last year, I learned that N-methyl pyrrolidone would be a good solvent of cured epoxy, and perhaps phtalocyanine dyes.

Do you have any other suggestions?T.Y.

If you can get it, MS 111 from Miller Stevenson should do the job.

HANDLE WITH CARE! DO NOT BREATH THE FUMES. DO NOT GET ON SKIN!

M-Pyrol is safer, but not non-toxic. I've used hot M-Pyrol to strip epoxy powder coated screws. Heat speeds up the stripping action, but increases the danger of health issues.

Be Careful with this stuff! I'm sure there are other strippers that will work, this is just one of them.

Anitoff,

In textiles we were using a product called END RING REMOVER, which is used to remove metal coated and cured Epoxy two component adhesive by simple cold soaking. Look for the stuff from STORK / ZIMMER or your country sources who handle Rotary Printing Screens. It is very safe to use unlike stripper.
