UPS Galaxy3000 20KVA Problem

11/24/2009 3:00 AM

I have a online UPS Galaxy3000 20KVA. It is showing a problem Inverter Ph2 V outside Tolerance. I am checking its LETR board. I am checking its IGBT power module

I have two Questions.

1- If you know the solution of the problem stated above then help me.

2- If you know the checking of IGBT power module BSM35GD120DN2E3224 with multimeter then also help me.

Thanks.

Please give the phase and line voltages of 3 phases. and also furnish the tolenrance what you set. don;t look at the IGBT first, as the chance of IGBT failure is very less.there may be problm with the measuring PT s or the set points or voltage calibration errors.

Please come up with the above details, so that we can give support to sot out

<...don't know how to check and set the tolerance...>

It will be found within the manufacturer's user manual supplied with the equipment.

There are a couple of items I would be checking:-

These UPSs have a Load Balance Tracking system, Check the current (Amps) on each phase, they should be within +/-8% of each other.
Quite often this is a problem on a lightly loaded UPS as it does not take much to exceed the set threshhold.

Next get the Inverter stack checked as a single failed unit in a modular set will also cause this error.

Next Step is to contact APC who now own MGE.

Sapper
