Searching for Lubricant (Light Oil)

02/02/2010 12:39 PM

Hope someone can help.

I used to use this stuff in the 90's. I can't remember if it was a light oil, surfactant, etc..However, I do remember it was called "SC163". I can't even remember if the "SC" was an internal designation for the blend.

If anyone remembers anything or knows who might make/made this stuff I'd appreciate it. We were located in South Florida at the time and tried to buy locally of course but I am not sure if this was local or not.

I've been scouring the internet with no luck.

You could try contacting Theo-Chem Laboratories out of Tampa to find out if they have an equivalent ....which will in the process tell you what it is..... but also possibly provide a suitable substitute.

They used to make and may still make "private label" / regional products like a generic degrease or floor stripper that was a slightly altered formulation of the original - usually better and cheaper due to low marketing cost.

Do your homework first and research on line so you can talk smart and they'll at least point you in the right direction. They'll probably blow you off if you don't sound like you know what your talking about.

I am not familiar with the particular product, but the product number resembles those used by CRC. Try this:

There are many light oils on the market. 3 in 1 oil, sewing machine oil, turbine oil are some that might meet your needs.
