Best Positioner?

02/18/2010 10:23 AM

Looking for some opinions on the "best" fieldbus valve positioner. Right now we have flowserve PMV D3s and a SRD991 from foxboro. Right now in our plant we have probably 100 D3s, the most in canada im pretty sure.

The foxboro seems great but the D3s we have some problems with. Always replacing pizzo valves, motherboards, etc.

Anyways just looking for some opinions, thanks.

The Fisher DVC 6000 series is about the best product on the market. Quite robust and integrates well with most systems, also great diagnostic capabilities.

Hi,

My experience is limited to fisher valve positioners.

Masoneilan is the only other brand I worked with when we installed four masoneilan valves with masoneilan positioners, one out of the four positioners failed when the valve was put in service.

We asked masoneilan for a new positioner but they refused and sent their field technician to fix the positioner that failed, but He ended up replacing the positioner.

As mentioned jm and dabdool ,Fisher DVC fieldvue positioner is a good reliable easy to work with instrument.

Thank you

Hi,

I'm doing a market research for positioners at the moment and after getting all the data there are following modells left:

Siemens SIPART PS2

Metso neles ND9000H

ABB TZDIC

Masoneilan SVI II AP

Tyco Avid SmartCal/ Westlock iCoT 5300

Foxboro SRD 991

Flowserve Logix 3200 MD/ IQ

Flowserve PMV D3

Fisher DVC 6000

Does anyone have experience with one of these positioners.

Thanks

Thomas
