The best solution is to not use mild steel. Use stainless, bronze or plastic wherever possible.

Is this brining for food contact, any coating you put on one should know what effects it would have if it is.

And also what solution concentrate as well as temperate, Brine becomes more active at above 70 Degrees F.

Off topic; This would change from using 304 SS to a 316 SS

Yes,

POR15, a moisture curing urethane,

from: www.por15.com.au or, the US parent.

Do it 'by the book' and your steel will be Ok for ten years at least.

I've been using it for just the same reasons for the last 20 years. Stu.

Sandblasting, followed by zinc-rich primer, followed by 2-part urethane yacht paint. Rayzer

You'll get a better result if you DON"T use the zinc rich primer. It's porous, and that can be a problem down the road a little.

If a product like POR is used, it has such wicking, and adhesion qualities and it's impervious, a decent film thickness will render the material safe for a very long time.

Go to prev. post and view site. I KNOW this stuff works. And, as there's no known solvent, the only way to get it off is to grind it off. Speaks volumes, I say.

Why take a chance?

Stu.

Ali, for just brine solution in regular conditions the mild steel should be sufficient, but if you have problems (other than slight pitting corrosion), so you need to detail the process fluid so we can help.. Rgds
