cable schedule &cable block diagram

I want to know how can i manage cable scheduling and what content are inside it?

A cable block diagram typically shows graphically all the pieces of control equipment and panels, etc., and the interconnection between them. Cable number and the number of cores or pairs of cores are usually all that is needed to be shown.

The cable schedule is developed from the cable block diagram, and will show cable length, core size, construction and type of power/signal in the cable as well as the number and number of cores/pairs. It will also show if the cable is to be provided by the installer, or whether the cable is supplied by an equipment vendor as well.

Both documents are valuable to the installer as well as the specifier.

Here is some addition information:

Cable schedule is a type of spreadsheet containing each and every cable for the project. It maintains lot of cable information such as Cable Tag Number, Cable Type, Number of Conductors, Cable Size, Voltage, From Equipment, Gland Type at From End, To Equipment, Gland Type at To End, Total Length, Routing Drawing, Comments etc.

Cable block diagram is a type of visual representation of cable schedule but cable schedule generally contains more information than the cable block diagram.

cable schedule is a document which gives the overview of the cables required in the plant.from this document we can estimate the required quantity of cable...
