I have a transformer with 110/230V primary input and the transformer is rated 80VA, how do I know its output voltage?

Please help.

check the winding ratio ... if it is 2.0 then it is a step down divide voltage in half. If it is a 0.5 it is a step up ... doubles the voltage. So the winding ratio is inverted to tell you to either divide or multiply the input voltage.

my dear if isolated transformer Pri. and Sec. and there is 4 wire ,you can do by ohm chek,230 v side would be about 4 times more in compair with 110v

if autotransformer it is'nt isolated and there is 3 wire two wires with more ohm is 230 v side

take care with voltage shok both

If you do not want to power up the transformer, take the part number of the transformer and go to the manufacturer's web site.

Energise the primary and measure it!
