I was recently paid for some work with a Dayton 4LM39B 10K generator and a Guardian Transfer Switch (#OE7969), dated 10/2003. The generator is set up to run on natural gas. The generator has 4113 hrs on the meter, but the generator and switch look like new and had excellent maintence. Is that a lot of hours for this type of generator? I plan to use it only for standby power. When it was last running it ran quietly and smoothly. Unfortunately all wires were cut off at the ends and they are ALL blue but of various gages. About 20 of them are exactly alike. I have built and wired a few houses in my day and I am very mechanically inclined. Can anyone help me find a manual (even a wire diagram)or propose a way to determine what goes where? Also are there any special precautions for when I start this unit for the first time in about 1 yr? I did fog the motor, taped up the gas inlet, removed the battery, and changed the coolant when I got it.
