Contact Fel-Pro

Here is their web-site

Gaskets can be molded, stamped (cut) or molded/stamped/bonded (in the case of rubber/fiber/metallic gaskets).

I do not believe that asbestos is used in the manufacture too many consumable items anymore.

In addition, Google is your friend.

Disclaimer: Have bought their products over the years and worked one of their plant expansions many moons ago.

I occasionally make them with a circle cutter, a set of round punches, and a box knife.

Mass production can be by punch-and-die; laser or water jet cutting might also work.

One method that is a lost art is the small hammer on the edge of the part that needs the gasket. Gently tap the gasket with the hammer is that the overhang is cut off. Continue around the inside hole, then the outside edge while holding the gasket material steady against the part.
