is it essential to give protection of switchyard c.b. by U.C.B as it is already given by local relay metering panel and if why.

hello rohit

i think its u

yes we need 2 protect the circuit breakers in the switch yard by U.C.B. it will already connected 2 the relay in the SY

it is coz, it in some cases the relay has a failure/under repair we can operate the C.B through U.C.B in emergency. having the protection in U.C.B is nothing, but just 4 exceptional cases.

regards,

priyanka

Yes you have to protect the generation side and the cable plus provide issolation incase of repair work being required. Provide fire protection and shock protection.
