Over Coat Interval

if exceed the over coat window what type of paint failiure will occure

That all depends on what you mean by an over coat window.

Most paints are opaque, so getting paint on the glass will block or reduce light from getting through the window. Also most paints do not adhere well to glass. So when it peels off it may take critical parts of paint with it from the sash.

If your window is the period of time an object (boat hull, dock wood) should be repainted then corrosion or some form of entropy loss will likely happen.

Then there are some overcoat failures that just boggle the mind.
