Techniques to Meet a Required Inlet Temperature of Raw Mill and EP in Power Generation

03/26/2012 9:25 AM

Regarding power generation through waste heat recovery boilers(WHRB) in the cement plant, I have a question on what techniques can be used to meet required inlet temperature of EP and Raw mill after an AQC and a PH boiler, respectively, in case the outlet temperature of WHRB becomes lower than the required temperature. I thought about installing a bypass damper which connects boiler inlet to outlet, but I doubt if a butterfly damper can control the temperature. Thanks in advance.

Where are your priorities in this?

For optimum plant operation the WHRB is superfluous.

The raw mill takes precedence followed by optimising the precipitator temperature to ensure correct operation.

Yes you can bleed off heat between the two but rather than look at the valve type I think you need to look at the entire viability of the idea.

The recovered heat will be variable as the kiln conditions vary. Do you have a use for a somewhat unpredictable heat source?
