The guard terminal is useful when measuring very high resistance values.

ir is use to trace loose connection in electrical terminal or to tell you that the power line is overloaded to prevent fault or fire, this is the machine use by O&M technician in powerplant or industrial,

warning !!!!! THINK SAFETY !!!!
