Chemistry?? Mixing Household Bleach and Methanol

04/19/2012 6:01 PM

I'm a hardware guy and know a little about chemistry, but I'm not sure of all the ramifications of an emergency message I recieved.

It appears some gents have been mixing household bleach and methanol for some internal cleaning of systems. I have heard this can be a fire hazard and can produce nasty fumes, but I wonder if someone can give a little more detail as to the dangers?

I'm not sure we should continue this line of discussion.

Should we have this closed down?

Do, if you'd like.
