Read the manual.

Contact the manufacturer.

Ask a co-worker who has either the education or experience to do your job for you.

Ask your instructor how to check it.

Or, you could always have your mother call us at BR-549.

Check it against another encoder that you know is working....

The only way one can truly check anything that measures something is with a more accurate tool than the one that needs checking. So this begs the question, what is the resolution and range of this absolute encoder? Did you honestly think that we could come up with a method to check an absolute encoder without knowing anything about this encoder?

Silly me. This is probably what you are looking for.

Do you have a linear or circular encoder?

What type do you have ? optical ?

Why do you suspect that it is incorrect ?
