WHY SOMETIMES WE USE FIBER PIECES IN CONCRETE AND ASPHALT MIX?

In particular, concrete and asphalt have low tensile strength (though good compressive strength). The fibers, even though small, add considerable tensile strength.

Chopped fiberglass, straw, horsehair, steel strands... all have been used.

Fibers used in concrete and asphalt mixes are typically used to minimize "micro-cracking" of the cured mix. Also, they are used to minimize concrete shrinkage cracks, which are produced by the Heat of Hydration process when concrete is curing.

BTW, TURN OFF YOUR "CAP LOCKS"........in essence you are YELLING at us!

Do a Google search to find the material properties of fibers.....typically, steel and plastic fibers are used in the Civil Engineering world.

THAT is exactly what I was discussing in my post above; fibers, and not main steel reinforcement bars.

Do us all a great big favor and visit this website, and learn from it before bothering us again with your attitude:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber-reinforced_concrete

One of the largest manufacturers of concrete fibers is:

www.fibermesh.com

mr. hassan , you need to use fiber and aspalt to protect the concrete and the steel rod inside the concrete inprastructure . and make this also to be waterproof,

hope you get a little idea on this messege.
