It's not the fact that it runs on NG that makes it so fast, but the fact that it is powered by a vast twin turbo 430 cu. in. engine. Perhaps we should try to build the fastest car running on "rubbing alcohol" and astound the world with that. Next up would be a pulsejet car running on custard powder (well it can explode).

If by definition of fast, you mean top speed, Indy cars are faster than F1.

You are right. Top speed goes to the Indy cars due to lower drag, but the F1 will brutally spank an Indy car on an open road circuit (not an oval) due to better handling and downforce.

In terms of top speed a drag car can reach something like 300 mph.

I'm a true F1 fan, in fact I went to the Formula SAE competition at Michigan International Speedway this weekend. Truly inspiring. Basically unlimited construction, with a few regs like max wheelbase, fuel(pump gas) and a 20 MM air restriction plate. My son's team had variable intake runners, carbon fiber monocoque, 8 point fuel injection, (4 cylinder R-2 engine) 110 teams. You guys would dig it, I'm sure. I must first say that this is certainly a cool vehicle. However, since your proposed vehicle runs on natural gas it appears to not be a production vehicle. So I raise your 0-60 mph of 1.96 seconds and offer this one of a kind street legal monster that claims 0-60 mph of 1 second at a drag strip. The video does bring some questionable value to the claim. Then there's the Barabus TKR that has a rated 0-60 mph of 1.67 seconds if you prefer to not consider the one of red monster. The Bugatti Veyron does have a high top speed than the Barabus but now we're quibbling about what is the criteria to claim the fastest car title. Oh, even though it is not a street legal car the Thrust SST still holds the real fastest car record.

http://www.zeroto60times.com/Fastest-Cars-0-60-mph.html

Below the list of top fastest is the list of top slowest.

0 - 60 MPH ET's in the 19 - 25.4 second ranges.

Anyone driving a car from that list?

A lot of good information from everyone, but your video is hot. My idea of fast is anything I can safely drive over a hundred miles an hour on a good road. I once drove my Nissan Sentra over a hundred on the way to Vegas one night. Just for a couple of minutes though. I like safe excitement. I once had a loaner Oldsmobile with a carburetor as big as a dish. I couldn't get across the street without burning rubber. It sure burned a lot of gasoline. I ran out of gas twice by being too cheap to put much in.

I remember an old Toyota ad that bragged about their Land Cruiser going 0 to 60 in sixteen seconds.

I had a later year B-210. Thank goodness it had a manual transmission so I could get something out of that tiny, starved engine.

I had the 1.6 Liter fastback hatchback, stick with an almost all glass hatch. We thought it was pretty cool. My daughter ran it into a ditch after about 140,000 miles, or I would have probably gotten 200,000 plus miles on it.

I had an 86 Cavalier that would get its doors sucked off by this.

After eating several burritos and cauliflower it would run / crawl on methane.

Was that the car or those trapped in the back seat?
