Are cheaper products really cheap?

05/11/2012 1:31 AM

Nowadays, business market becomes more and more competitive. In order to get orders, many wicked manufactures became to supply problematic products with "cheaper" price.

"...You got what you pay, so stop arguing with me..." I have ever heard these kinds of words for many times from some suppliers.

In my opinion, everything has its basic costs. As the price is very cheap, it usually means some problems may hide behind it. What do you think about it?

"There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey."
John Ruskin

It's all down to specification and/or fitness for purpose.
Many tools and products today represent extremely good value for money as long as you are discerning.
If you want heavy duty, military or industrial standard tools they you need to pay a heavy duty prices.
If you need a job for a one off or light use, then often a cheapie will do the job.
Caveat emptor.

Many years ago a person said to me, if you could produce an item cheaper that the same item on the market, and your item was beter that the one on the market, would you sell it cheaper or more expensive?

Regards JD.

And if one could make the same thing cheaper, why on earth would one sell it cheaper?

The only thing worse than selling junk is the deceptive advertising used to sell it.
