Your concerns are backwards actually, 304 L will promote decomposition of H2O2, yielding plenty of heat and gas. Oxygen- reactive.

It's not the worst metal , but its also not the best.

Depending oon the purity required- the peroxide will coorrode the 304L, you just might be better using Zirconium ...

Todays metal prices, whatever you select will be too expensive to use.

Contrary to previous advice, 304 will work well-depending on temperature and H2O2 strength. All metals contacting H2O2 MUST be passivated with a wash of dilute nitric acid. You should contact SOLVAY technical service for particular details. Generally H2O2 concentration is limited to 34% or lower to avoid self ignition dangers on accidental release on combustible materials. Higher concentrations require careful management and adherence to exacting storage and containment conditions.

Even with the 'best' storage & handling, H2O2 WILL spontaneously decomose slowly, releasing oxygen--which must be removed from the 'vapor space' to pevent deadly conflagration potential. Please contact SOLVAY and get well educated and follow the advice of some real EXPERTS--you ARE dealing with a dangerous material.

"depending on temperature and H2O2 strength" sounds like more of a disclaimer than "Zirconium should be considered an ideal option for working safely and efficiently with hydrogen peroxide."

Mssr Agent for Solvay correctly establishes that it is the nature of peroxide that creates dangers. He just fails to see advantages of the suggestion of zirconium materials based on data of catalysis, decomposition initiation, and comparative rates of gas evolved and corrosion between the metals being discussed.

Wetted parts -thickness 0.5mm of AISI304L- and strength backup from Carbon Steel
