Caulerpa Taxifolia Content

Hi All,

I have an assignment on the macroalgae conversion into biofuels. I'm focusing on the conversion of algae into bioethanol. I want to do a preliminary investigate on the possibility of converting caulerpa taxifolia into bioethanol. Unfortunately, I have difficulties in finding the content of it, especially the c-6 sugar content. I would very appreciate it if anybody here who has some information willing to share it with me.

Actually, i'm looking for the carbohydrate, ash, etc percentage either on dry basis or weight basis as a literature reference, before we actually test it ourselves.

I found ref. about another type of caulerpa, well, maybe, i'm going to start from it.

The ethanol process is generally simple, ask any brewer. And it is a self-limiting process. The alcohol produced, around 15% poisons its host, and stops the whole process. The same limitation is not applicable to lipids.
