how to calculate a conveyor belt head pulley torque if head pully dia 500mm and conveyer dimension is 800mm*12mm*60m and it conveying a metarial of 2.2 t/m*m*m density.

We need also to know how high the product is piled on the conveyor; what the slope is, if any; and whether the belt is supported by rollers or slides.

Also required is the angle the line joining head & tail pulley make with horizontal. Capacity (tonnes/hour) in place of angle of repose.

Also, instead of calculating, think of direct measurement of initial torque required with the help of digital torque wrench with some attachment with head pulley/shaft.
