App for Detecting Serpentine Belt Wear

06/07/2012 4:52 PM

Here's an interesting use of smartphone technology, you take a picture of your serpentine belt with your phone and the App analyzes the ribs and gives you a go-no-go evaluation of the belt...

NB: I have no commercial interest in Gates.

That is certainly a more high-tech application than this.

How much 'Tech' do we really need? Is there an app for determining shoelace aglet wear? How much life is left in a rubber band?

I've never used that device.

I'm not sure I even know how to get the hood of my truck open any more.

I don't have a smart phone either.

I'm confident that the audible warning device will alert me to any problems, unless the radio is turned up too loudly.
