Dear All

I am confused for selection of joint type for category D joint.

i have pressure vessel having 294 bar pressure at 85° C temperature.design code is ASME SEC-VIII DIV-2 latest edition. Examination group is 1B. MOC is 516 GR 70.

as per SECTION 4.2.5.5 & TABLE 7.2 can i select nozzle forging withoput lip?

as per table 7.2 for catagory D joint & for joint type 1, 2 & 7 ,100% RT OR UT shall be performed. i am confusing weather i will used corner joint or butt joint for category d joint.

Please suggest.? and WHY?
