Volvo S60 Dashboard

Can anyone tell me how to change the dashboard of a Volvo S60 with a second hand dashboard. All of my dashboard information is gone and I don't want to install a new dashboard at a volvo dealers as the car isn't worth it. An auto-electrics guy has been looking at it and is struggling to get the second dash working properly. Seemingly this is a common problem with that model/year (2003). Help appreciated.

I had an issue a few years ago where all of the clocks fell to zero and the only things that worked were the mileometer and a hand brake light.

Its an easy change - 4 screws and a simple connector..

THe Volvo use the canalis bus system and components such as the dashboard have an IP address. Your car won't recognise an 'alien' dashboard - not a good route.

Take the panel out and send it away to a panel repairers. I used BBA in the UK but there are others. Its a few hundred pounds but cheaper than the near £1000 a dealer will charge.

When the dash comes back you wil need to book it in to get the SRS warning light turned off.
