Ash Disposal System

06/20/2012 4:16 AM

A 12 TPH Travelling Grate Boiler. It usually runs on Biomass fuel (Groundnut Shell, Chipper Dust, Sometimes Paddy Husk). Occassionally runs on coal. Need to design an ash disposal system for it. Need a clean, dry (right now the ash is deposited on a belt submerged in water which is then deposited on the floor) Searching for a cleaner/ preferably dryer options. Does anyone know any companies in india for Pneumatic ash disposal system. Suggestions required. Thanks. :)

No response from them. Sent them loads of emails. No contact numbers for India location. Just a few numbers of suppliers who haven't been of much help.

Why do you expect them to reply when you mentioned that you want to design. They have engineered & designed and manufactured. Why would they even will to sell to you to copy.

Isn't Pneumatic ash disposal system just fancy name for a dust collector? One set up to specifically to move and filter out the ash?

So you may want to look to dust collectors.

I would think this type process for moving ash would require a lot of up keep. The fine particles would have to be separated out. Which depending on the size of your boiler would require a large cyclone to get the fine ash to settle out. But would still put a lot in the filters. Clogged filter being have to be maintained.

Seen another system use that use wetting action. Grates roll the ash into cat litter sized particles. Drop out into hoppers to be disposed of.

We have that already. We have bag filters and cyclones for the fine particles and for the bigger particles which directly come from under the travelling grate it moves to a submerged belt conveyor. The problem comes when we have to dump this whole wet ash onto the floor. Searching for a disposal system for that and probably eliminate the wet belt.
