Energy out/energy in x 100.

Re: equations of efficiency

OK, let's assume there is a misunderstanding in translation here (MITH), because in my 38 years of experience around process equipment I have never heard the word 'efficiency' relating to a storage tank; stratified, well-mixed, or otherwise. And while a recent poster did cause us to resurrect the definitions (there are at least 2) of efficiency of a heat exchanger, it they have limited use, and didn't help solve his problem. They don't have the usual usage as stated by lyn.

So, if you would state you problem/issue more clearly and completely, maybe someone here can help. Is this a real-world system? Exising or under consideration? What is the relationship of the tank to the heat exchanger? Is there more equipment, pumps or piping, involved?

What, from only one sentence-worth of information? Stroll on!

A dumb question looking for a detailed answer. Whoever heard of an equation of efficiency of a storage tank and a compact heat exchanger with NO engineering parameters.
