Air Manifolds

07/27/2012 11:09 AM

We are looking for a source to buy hollow tubing similar to the picture included, we ant to custom make some air manifolds for machines we are rebuilding. Anyone know of a good supplier of materials like or close to the pictured product?

A lot of custom extrusions out there that could be one of them. If you need something like that and are going to use enough. It may be better to have what you need extruded. I have seen some of the structural tube like 80/20 used like that.

You might try sending or faxing your photo with the specifics to Tiernay Metals, who specialize in Aerospace/Aircraft extrusions, and could very well carry what you are looking for, or a suitable substitute for your specific needs. Depending on where you are located, they have a Pacific Northwest Division in Washington State, a Midwest Division in Kansas, an East coast Division in Conneticut, an England Division in Hertfordshire, England and the Corporate Headquarters in Redondo Beach, California. My catalog is quite old, and most likely out of date, but I'd try searching the CR4 site, if nothing there, try Google for Tiernay Metals. Good luck!!

Air manifolds are really easy to fabricate, if you are looking for a small number then go down that wrought, It doesn't have to be square, a round tube with sockets welded to it will do just as well, if they are precision welded they can look like that's how they were meant to be, with caps on one end and tees and bends on the other you can fabricate as many lines as you want.

Right. And if the pressure is nominal, you don't even have to weld. Use heavier schedule pipe and tap right into it.
