Sensor Needed
08/02/2012 10:11 AM
Hello to all! I would like to know if there is any manufacturer (at industrial scale) of devices working trough the principle of photoelectromagnetic efect;
for those who do not know what it is, please take a visit to this page;
Phrase not found in the Dictionary and Encyclopedia. Please try the words separately:
But there was another link on that page that went here:
Warning! The following article is from The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979). It might be outdated or ideologically biased.
Photoelectromagnetic Effect
Anything that starts off with a warning like that is immediately suspect, just like all of the Soviet era "science experiments" that ended up on the front page of tabloids all around the world. The "ideological bias" of things like the Great Soviet Encyclopedia was that Soviet scientists were threatened with a trip to Siberia if they didn't have something published, so they published all kinds of scientific mumbo jumbo, just to save their own lives. Can't say I blame them, but that doesn't make it true.
I would venture to say that if it were true or economically viable, someone would be exploiting it outside of being mentioned in Soviet era "Publish-or-die" rags.

The most I've heard of in terms of PEM sensors has been in a slew of various patents and published papers. I'm not certain anyone has started to manufacture anything utilizing that technology.
That´s a good question! Can be used for many things I guess...
It is a mode of operation for certain semiconductor´s (e.g- germanium and [this one seams very exquisite-oxide of copper], that when with a magnetic field and exposed to light they form electric potential.
no number´s nor formulas! ence the question!
for the rest of the poster´s, know that I knew about this fenomena in a American Electronic course, so no politic´s here in issue! and know that there are excellent scientific book´s made in Russia!
