Analytical Instrument Service Rates

08/04/2012 7:12 PM

I would like to compare analytical instrument on-site service billing rates by the various manufacturers. Any information would be appreciated.

Can you phone a few nearby manufacturers and simply ask them?

This looks like a job for: Search GlobalSpec

Search there for prices.

Service rates are usually contract driven. Bigger, better customer gets better rates.

Do you plan on a lot of repair or service work? So many mfg's out there to choose from. Depending on your applications and how many locations you have you may want a larger tier-one supplier like a Teledyne, GE, ABB.

Otherwise, geography could limit your pool of candidates to smaller- mid size suppliers, like a local distributor who can provide the servicing. Rgrds, Dave

I've been retired from the analytical instrument service business for about four years now, but when I was active, we charged $200/hour plus transportation, lodging and per-diem. An annual service contract is much cheaper.
